Olympic Torch

This week while we were at Olympic Park, Finn & I got to have our photo taken with the real Olympic Torch. It was an absolute highlight for us. Of course we had to buy the photos!
Here is one of them:

  1. Hi Deb & Finn,
Thank you for sharing this picture! I loved the one which you emailed the link to. The back drops are really neat (the night scene is stunning). Were you standing in front of a green screen? Did you get to choose the back drop or did they make a up a set with pre chosen backgrounds?
What an experience holding the torch... Did you jog with it for a few meters?
    Lots of love xoxo

  2. Hi Deborah & Finn,
Indeed, what a highlight, and a nice picture. A nice piece of personal history.
We hosted a music group at our place this afternoon, people who like orchestras and classical music. We played a DVD of a summer evening concert in the huge grounds of Schönbrunn Palace(Vienna) by the Vienna Philharmonic orchestra. Then home baking and elegant china for afternoon tea.
Hope all goes well with your departure from the UK and the long journey home. But long-haul flights are good fun, eh. Finn, I reckon you should be able to watch 12 movies between London and New Zealand. Worth a try, do you think? Why not, eh, see if you can set a new PB.
    Love to you both,
    Len & Judy

  4. Hi Deborah,
Please put me out of my misery. Solve the puzzle for me. What is that large, significant rather nice and land-markish structure by the Olympic stadium? The one that is lit up red behind you in the torch picture.
    Love,
    Dad & Judy

    1. It's called the Orbit. It's a huge tower that is central in Olypmic Park. You can go all the way to the top but you need to have prebooked tickets. So we weren't able to climb to the top.
I think the architect won a competition and that was the tower that was chosen.
