We finally got our tickets tonight! With only 4 sleeps to go - the travel agent was cutting it a bit fine!
We are both feeling very excited now that we only have 1 day of school to go. Sunday is our day for packing, especially so Finn can truly say he packed his own bag - although most of the clothes and things we want to take are spread out on the spare bed. We'll be on the plane before we know it.

9 sleeps to go!
We've started making sure that we don't wear certain clothes so that we can pack them next weekend. The mail has been redirected, the bills mostly prepaid for during our absence, most stuff is sorted! Yay....we've reached the final countdown.
One exciting week of school to go. Lots happening this week! It will fly by.

14 sleeps to go!
Yesterday we visited the Olympic Museum. For those of you in Wellington, it's a little museum beside the entrance to TSB Arena on Queen's Wharf.
It's a dinky little museum with lots of interesting facts and displays about the Olympics and our NZ Olympic teams over the years.
Finn and his best friend, Ryan, got to try on a medal. They are really heavy.
They also got to hold a men's shot put - all 7.25kg. Just outside the door way, they have a line to show how far Valerie Adams can throw a shot put. The women's shot put is around 4kg and she can throw it around 23m. When you see it painted - it's a long way.

Olympics - here we come!
We are hearing more and more about the Olympics as they get closer and closer.
Our excitement is building!
We have been fortunate to purchase tickets for six events. Mind you it wasn't easy because we had to go into a ballot through an agency in America.
Our tickets are:
A football pool match at Wembly,
The football semifinals at Wembly,
Taekwondo,
Diving - men's 3m,
Table tennis,
Hockey semifinal - men's.
We'll be part of the excitement of the opening and closing ceremonies in a park somewhere around London. We're even going to go to an Olympic street party with one of the families that we are staying with.
Just 17 days until we leave NZ!

21 days to go!
This time in three weeks we'll be on a plane!!!! Can't wait.
I've made a list of everything that we need to do (rather everything I have to do!) before we go and it is huge. It's going to be a hectic three weeks.
This blog is going to be our major way of keeping in touch as we want to be out and about having a good time and not spending all day in internet cafes. So leave us messages and comments on our blog while we are on our big adventure. Keep in touch :-) We'll endeavour to publish a new post every couple of days once we actually arrive on the other side of the world.

BRRR - it's winter
It's winter here. We're all cosy and warm in our coats and hats after coming home from Finn's school production on Wednesday night. In a month we'll be on the other side of the world and into summer.
Can't wait!
