| Leaving Wembley late at night |
Last night we attended our very first Olympic event. We saw two pool matches of football at Wembley Stadium. They had a crowd of 88000 people there last night.
The first match was Senegal v Uraguay (2-0) and the secong was Great Britain v UAE (3-1). The secong match was our favourite. The football was fabulous. The crowd for the second match was amazing and good spirited being their home team. Finn felt like he was the only Uraguay supporter in the crowd during the first match.
On Saturday we visited the Natural History Museum and loved their dinosaur exhibition. As well as bones and fossils it has moving dinosaurs, some of which really roar! Very cool.
We'll have so much to tell you about when we get back - we'll bore you silly!!!
Hi
ReplyDeleteFootball fans. Sounds like you had an enjoyable time at the football.Glad you made it through 2 games. It was a long time sitting and watching. The football standard must be very good to watch and the atmosphere when the english were supporting their own team I imagine was deafening. Did you get to keep your tickets?
The Natural History museum I believe is excellent, some of the dinosaur structures must be amazing to see the size. Was there any interactive components there?

Hi Deb & Finn,
ReplyDeleteI wrote you a big post yesterday but it disappeared when I got kicked off the site while I was signing in :-(
I had asked if you had dressed up and painted your faces to watch the football, but I can see from today's photos that you didn't. It must have been amazing to be apart of the crowd and experience the atmosphere... I hope that your ears aren't still ringing!
Yesterday was a miserable day so we spent the afternoon watching the opening ceremony which I had recorded. I was very impressed, it was very inclusive, and a good portrayal of history, things generally British and a bit of laughs thrown in as well. Those planned, and those not... In our coverage it was showing world leaders that were there to support their countries... With America Obama never got a full shot, the focus was on his wife Michelle, maybe she should run for president in the next election?
Lots of love xoxo
Hiya
ReplyDeleteHope you are getting around that busy city easy enough. 88,000 at the stadium that is impressive! Best football match I saw was northern Ireland vs Bulgaria (we were in Bulgaria) and the atmosphere was amazing. The crowd definitly makes the game. Have fun.
Love and hugs
Emily
Have just had the best time catching up your amazing adventures to date! I am very envious - keep enjoying all you do and see!
